Privacy policy
How we handle your information
This policy explains what Global Opportunities Nepal ("GON", "we") collects when you use the Study Abroad Readiness Check, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We follow Nepal's Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018).
1. What we collect
Your answers to the check. Only the questions your chosen country needs are asked. Depending on the country, that includes: where you want to study and at what level, your education and result (including backlogs and degree length), the year you finished and what you have done since, your English or Korean test scores (or an English waiver), whether your documents are verified (Korea), who sponsors you, their income range, income sources and years of tax clearance, your family's yearly income range, how much of the first-year funds you can show and where they come from (savings, loan, sponsor, scholarship), how much is in savings (New Zealand), how long the funds have been in the bank, and any past visa refusal with the country and when (Australia only). We no longer ask your age, marital status, subject area, preferred start date, ties to Nepal, or — outside Australia — about a past refusal.
Your contact details. Your name, mobile number, email address and how you prefer to be contacted (WhatsApp, Viber or phone call).
Technical information. Your IP address and basic request details, recorded in our server logs. We use them to keep the service secure and to stop spam and misuse.
We only ask for ranges (for example "Rs 25–30 lakh"), never exact figures, bank account numbers, citizenship numbers or documents.
2. Why we use it
- To calculate and show your readiness result.
- So a GON counsellor can contact you about your result, your study options and next steps.
- To offer our related services, such as IELTS and PTE preparation, when they fit your result.
- To keep the service secure, prevent spam and fix problems.
- To improve the accuracy of the check, using records with names and contact details removed.
We collect and use this information because you agree to it when you tap "Show my result". Answering is optional — if you don't want to share, simply don't complete the check, and you can still contact us directly.
3. Who can see it
Only authorised GON counsellors and staff can see your information. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
We share information only:
- with colleges, universities or banks when you ask us to help with an application or education loan, and only what that application needs;
- with service providers that run our systems for us (for example web hosting and our internal messaging tools), who may use it only to provide that service to us;
- when the law requires it.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your information for up to two years after our last contact with you, so we can continue helping with your plans. After that we delete it. If you become a GON student, we keep your records for as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal requirements.
5. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information;
- stop contacting you.
Email info@globalopportunitiesnepal.com or call 01-4793990 from the mobile number you gave us. We will respond within 15 days. To protect you, we may ask you to confirm who you are first.
6. Your browser
While you use the check, your answers and contact details are kept in your browser's temporary "session storage" so a page reload doesn't lose your progress. They are removed when you close the tab or tap "Start over". We do not use advertising cookies. If we add analytics tools in the future, we will update this page first.
7. Keeping it safe
Information travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and is stored on secured servers. Counsellor access is protected by a password. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information, and we will tell you if a breach affects you.
8. Students under 18
Many students take the check while finishing +2. If you are under 18, please complete it with a parent or guardian, and ask them before you share your contact details.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Important changes will be shown on the check itself.
